• Couples or solo travelers who want a premium hard-shell without the bulk of full-size RTTs
• Smaller SUVs, Tacomas, and rigs where roof space is limited but comfort still matters
• Overlanders who want blackout sleep, true four-season performance, and fast clamshell setup
Skip If
• You need space for 3–4 people — this is strictly a compact 1–2 person platform
• Ultra-light minimalist builds are your priority
• Budget-focused setups — this sits firmly in the premium category
What We Like
• Compact clamshell design keeps setup fast while still offering a surprisingly roomy sleeping area
• 9-zone insulated mattress and cork-style honeycomb floor improve comfort and temperature control
• Dual-layer FRP shell with blackout poly-cotton canvas makes it legit for all-season travel
• Slim footprint fits shorter roof racks without overhang
Tradeoffs
• Narrower interior width compared to full-size Skycamp or hybrid tents
• Around ~125 lb is light for a hard-shell but still requires a solid rack system
• Less headroom toward the foot compared to pop-up hard-shell designs

The the quilted insulation lining the iKamper Skycamp 3.0 Mini's interior as well as the 300gsm polycotton canvas provides extra warmth and light protection in the winter as well as simply a nicer place to be than most other tents.
9-Zone Mattress
The unique, 9-zone mattress design provides a comfort that is almost unmatched.
I've had my Skycamp Mini 2.0 for five years now. And it fits my needs perfectly. I am on my second rainfly (replaced this year) but I can't fault it since I use my tent 40-50 times each year, so I figure I got 200 nights without a drop of water coming through. My only complaint, and it was solved with the 3.0, is putting the window cover poles in with the pole holder underneath the tent. I agree that the mattress doesn't really work, but after the first night in it I added an expedition sleep pad to my gear and have been using it since. Great product and I love the accessories from the large annex room to the awning.
Had my ikamper skycamp mini 3.0 for a little over a year. The material wears really easily, especially where the ladder is stored. It’s terrible in wind, this also goes for the annex plus. You need the insulation tent to feel comfortable in any weather below 50 degrees. The inner tent for the skycamp mini 3.0 that I received did not work for the annex plus. The awning sucks in wind greater than 10mph. For the price you can def find better options. Mines for sale hmu if you’re interested.
I recently purchased a Sky Camp Mini. The mattress is just awful. Had to use my therma-rest sleeping pad to be able to sleep. For $3800 a person should get a mattress that is actually usable. Also, my install is a below roof and the rain-fly on the cab side is unusable because the provided rain-fly rods are to long to fit properly making that rainfly useless. Other than those items it is a well made tent.
I used a Maggiolina Grand Tour for nine years. A rooftop tent perfectly fit my needs. I downsized from an AEV JK350 to a Chevy Colorado ZR2 and immediately began reading everything I could about today’s RTT’s. I knew I needed something smaller to fit on a bed rack, but didn’t want to compromise on space or comfort. I knew I wanted a hardshell for a variety of reasons.
After reading everything and watching tons of review videos,, I decided to purchase the iKamper Skycamp 3.0 mini. Installation seemed too straightforward and simple to be true….but it was real. I unboxed the tent, and with help lifting it onto the rack I had it secure and ready in minutes. Bravo on the mounting hardware design!!!
Setting up and taking down the tent is unbelievably simple, and fast. Material quality is outstanding, and I sleep quite comfortably. Not to mention it looks fantastic.
I highly recommend this tent if you love camping.
