Overland Odyssey Trail Verdict
Best For
• Couples, families, or small groups who want a hybrid tent that blends hard-shell durability with soft-shell interior space
• Weight-conscious builds — around 128 lb keeps it lighter than most 3–4 person RTTs
• Overlanders who want blackout comfort, huge interior space, and true four-season capability
Skip If
• You want true clamshell speed — setup is quick but still fold-out based (~3 minutes)
• Narrow compact tents are your priority — this is built around interior livability
• Ultra-minimalist builds where width and footprint matter more than space
What We Like
• Hybrid design combines aluminum honeycomb base durability with soft-shell-style openness
• Huge open footprint (~74" × 90.5") gives legit family-level sleeping room
• 9-zone insulated 2.75" mattress is noticeably more comfortable than many RTT foam pads
• Blackout poly-cotton canvas plus Skyview windows create one of the most livable interiors in this category
Tradeoffs
• Fold-out hybrid setup still takes longer than wedge or clamshell hard-shell tents
• Wider footprint can be harder to fit on shorter roof racks
• Mattress hinge seam (common hybrid design trait) can bother some sleepers depending on preference

Ultra-Light iKamper
At only 128lbs, this is the lightest of all iKamper and it ready for almost any vehicle.
I've really liked all I read and reviewed of the iKamper options. My wallet was pleased when the X-cover 3.0 was released. Upon receiving the well box item, the installation was a breeze. The tent folded right open and closed with ease. I wonder about the metal pole longevity. Hoping to keep testing it out as much as possible!
The X-Cover 3.0 was the deciding tent given its height in my tight garage and its large spacious interior.
It’s really easy to deploy, even for a short guy like me! I do recommend getting the air mattresses right away though if you’re a side sleeper, the included foam mattress is no pleaser lol
This tent is awesome! Easy to set up and put away. It’s also extremely comfortable. Can’t wait to take it out on many more family adventures.
Perfect solution gor sleeping 4 off the ground. Very happy with my purchase.
